Monitoring the ISL Conference Proxy Activity

 
 

Once you have installed the ISL Conference Proxy on your server, made all the necessary configurations, and started successfully supporting your clients remotely, you may also wish to monitor the activity on the ISL Conference Proxy and view statistics on using the ISL Light services. This section of the Quick Installation Guide delivers details on monitoring the ISL Conference Proxy activity.

Servers
  • To monitor events, start ISL Conference Proxy administration web services (available at http://localhost:7615/conf). By selecting Activity monitor - Servers in the menu, you will get the list of all ISL Conference Proxy servers.

  • The list of ISL Conference Proxy servers will show only one server, unless you have purchased a GRID License. The list shows the server/s currently available for the ISL Light services. Each server on the list has its own unique ID. The default server ID is -1. For the GRID License users, each server is labelled with an ID value of zero or more.

Description of the server list fields:

  • Select: allows you to select a server and apply an action (restart the server, disconnect the server).
  • Server ID: a unique server ID.
  • Address: the server's public IP address. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • Connected: status on inter-server connection. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • Version: the ISL Conference Proxy version.
  • Build time: the ISL Conference Proxy executable build time.
  • [3.0.1 and later] Free disk space: indicates free disk space. The amount is taken from the partition, that ISL Conference Proxy is installed on.
  • [3.0.0 only] Last start: indicates the time of the server start-up.
  • [3.0.1 and later] Up time: the amount of time the server has been running.
  • [3.0.0 only] Last connect: indicates the start time of the last inter-server connection. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • [3.0.1 and later] Connected time: the amount of time the last inter-server connection was established. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • [3.0.0 only] Last disconnect: indicates the stop time of  last inter-server connection. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • [3.0.1 and later] Disconnected time: the amount of time the last inter-server connection was not established. Available for GRID configurations only.
  • ISL Light session: the number of currently active ISL Light sessions.
  • ISL Pronto: indicates the number of logged-in supporters and active chats. Available for ISL Pronto users only.

Description of possible actions on a server

  • Restart selected: the selected servers are restarted, allowing you to perform upgrades. When restarting a server, you get redirected to a new webpage, where you can wait for the server to restart itself and then continue with the web administration.

  • Disconnect selected from GRID: the selected servers will be disconnected from the GRID. Available for GRID configurations only.

Transfer rates

Average transfer rates are available for each server by selecting Activity monitor - Transfer rates in the menu:

Transfer rates are described with two values. The first value indicates the outgoing rate and the second value indicates the incoming rate. The averages are recorded for the following time intervals: 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and 1 hour. The transfer rates are recorded for three different types of traffic:

  • GRID: the inter-server traffic.
  • ISL Light: the session and the client-proxy traffic for ISL Light.
  • Web server: the traffic for web administration and other.
Sessions
 
The reporting functionality allows you to see all sessions between your operators and clients that are currently active on every ISL Conference Proxy server in your company. Please see the Sessions - Active submenu. You can also see logs of the past sessions. Please see the Sessions - History submenu.

Active sessions

To see the active ISL Light session on the ISL Conference Proxy, please choose the Sessions - Active in the menu:

In the Sessions - Active submenu, you can view the report list of all active ISL Light sessions (please note: some values in the picture are hiden):

By ticking one or more boxes in the active session list and by pressing the button "Drop selected" you drop the selected session/s.

Description of the fields in the active sessions list:

  • Select: allows you to select a session and apply an action.
  • Session ID: unique session ID, which is an internal ISL Conference Proxy database ID.
  • Active on server: the server ID, which a session is currently active on (both ISL Light Desk and ISL Light Client are always connected to the same server).
  • Session code: the session code, which the ISL Light Client user had entered to establish the session. Available only for ISL Light 3 software.
  • Created at: the time, when the session was created (the ISL Light Desk requested for a session code).
  • User: user account of the ISL Light Desk user.
  • Duration: the amount of time the session was / has been active.
  • Last transfer: the time of the network packet sent most recently. It is measured from the start of the session.
  • Bytes transferred: the total amount of bytes, that were transferred during the session.
  • Average B/s: average bytes per second.
  • Desk, Client: some control data on the ISL Light software, separated with a comma:
    • version,
    • user interface language (not always available),
    • IP address,
    • type of network transport (direct, HTTP, HTTPS).
  • Desk, Client location: geographical location (country code, country, city). Available only when the GeoIP is installed.

Please note: the information on ISL Pronto is available only for users of the website optimization solution - ISL Pronto. That is to say, the ISL Solutions product range is placed at the very top of the advanced network communication solutions. Currently, it is present with the remote desktop support solution ISL Light and the website sales optimization solution ISL Pronto.

Description of the fields in the ISL Pronto operators list:

  • User: account name of the logged-in operator.
  • Status: status of the operator (available, busy, ...).
  • Name: full name of the operator visible in the web chat.
  • E-mail: e-mail of the operator visible in the web chat.
  • Photo: picture of the operator visible in the web chat.
  • In chats: unique IDs of all chat sessions, which the supporter is currently active in.
  • IP: IP address. If the ISL Conference Proxy provides an internal IP address as well, it is available in a parenthesis.
  • Location: geographical location (country code, country, city). Available only when the GeoIP is installed.

Description of the fields in the ISL Pronto clients list:

  • Name, E-mail: name and e-mail, which the client has entered in the web chat request window.
  • In chats: a unique ID of the chat, which the client is currently active in.
  • Language: language of the web chat user interface and status messages shown to the client.
  • Browser: internet browser, which the client is using.
  • IP: IP address. If the ISL Conference Proxy provides an internal IP address as well, it is available in a parenthesis.
  • Location: geographical location (country code, country, city). Available only when the GeoIP is installed.

By choosing the ISL Pronto chats in the Active sessions submenu, the ISL Pronto chats report appears:

  • Chat ID: a unique chat ID. This is an internal ISL Conference Proxy database ID.
  • Name, E-mail: name and e-mail, that the client has entered in the web chat request window.
  • Supporters: account names of the operators currently chatting with one or more clients.
  • Language: language of the web chat user interface and status messages shown to the client.
  • Browser: internet browser, which the client is using.
  • IP: the client's IP addres. If the ISL Conference Proxy provides an internal IP address as well, it is available in a parenthesis.
  • Location: the client's geographical location (country code, country, city). Available only when the GeoIP is installed.

History sessions

By selecting the Sessions / History option in the main menu:

the Session history report appears. You can enter search parameters:

ISL Light history search parameters:

  • Created after, before: allows you to limit the search to the specific time interval. By default, the time interval is set to the last hour. These two parameters limit the search based on the"Created at" field.
  • Limit to user: allows you to limit the search based on the "User" field. You can use the standard wildcards * and ?. Examples:
    • all users of a domain abc: \\abc\*
    • all user names containing joe: \\*\*joe*
    • all users with a four-letter user name: \\*\????
