Instructions on installing ISL Conference Proxy described in this chapter are intended for clean installations only. For information on upgrading your existing ISL Conference Proxy, please skip to the section on Upgrading the ISL Conference Proxy.
Please note: before making the installation, you should first create a packet with your server's IP address / DNS name and some other parameters. Making an ISL Conference Proxy installation without a custom-built packet is not possible. Please see the section on Creating Server License Packets for details on how to define your server and create a customized packet.
ISL Conference Proxy can be installed on the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
Linux Kernel 2.4 or higher
The ISL Conference Proxy installation procedure for a MS Windows server differs in some details from its installation on a Linux server. However, to start the installation and download the appropriate packet, please log into the Web Console and choose the "Server License" option:
Microsoft Windows installation |
- Log in to your PC / server as an administrator with the rights to install a program.
- Download the ISLConferenceProxy_..._win32.exe. and the confproxy license, which are stored in your ISL Light account accessible on the Web Console.
|

- Install the ISL Conference Proxy on your PC / Server by selecting Start / Run ISLConferenceProxy_..._win32.exe or just by a double-click on that file. Please, follow the Installation wizard which opens after running the .exe file.

| Linux installation |
- Log in as root.
- Download the ISLConferenceProxy_..._linux.bin.
- Download the license file.
- Run the installer: sh ISLConferenceProxy_..._linux.bin
- If the server has a graphical user interface, please use an Internet browser and open the page http://localhost:7615/conf.
- If the server does not have a graphical user interface, please run the command confproxyctl headless which will allow you to set an administrator password and trusted networks for the web administration interface. If you wish to bind the ISL Conference Proxy to a different IP address, you can run the command confproxyctl bindip. The alternative is to make an ssh tunnel to the local port 7615 and access the web administration through the tunnel. You can access the web administration on the page http://server-ip:7615/conf. Users of ISL Conference Proxy 3.0.0, please note: the confproxyctl is available only in the version 3.0.1 and later.
