Faster ISL Light service upgraded with remote access
Starting today, ISL AlwaysOn is available for public beta-testing offering unlimited remote access. ISL AlwaysOn allows operators to start a secure fully featured remote desktop session with a computer or a server without the other side being present. Every session is secured with an end-to-end 256-bit AES encryption, whereas each client secures their computer with an additional personal password to authenticate the operator each time they access the computer. The client has the possibility of locking his/her computer in order to temporarily disallow access rights. During a remote desktop session, an operator is empowered to use every feature currently available in ISL Light: screen-sharing, keyboard- and mouse-control sharing, file-transfer, whiteboard, and video call.
ISL AlwaysOn gives operators greater flexibilty in terms of choosing their own working hours, administering a remote server, and also accessing their work computer remotely. The trial of this add-on is open to both the existing 17,000 ISL Light users and newcomers. The trial is completely free of charge until 1st June 2007 and does not set a limit on the number of computers on either side: the client's or the operator's. Operators can set up ISL AlwaysOn on all their clients' computers or servers that they want to service permanently. The setup is automatic and does not require any configurations. The setup finished, operators can access a computer or a server by means of just 1 click.
Apart from adding the remote access feature to ISL Light, the service, too, has been recently improved. Namely, the network of interconnected servers, which relays every ISL Light session established by Hosted Service users – the ISL Grid Network – has been expanded by 5 servers. The new servers are located in Germany, Spain, Slovenia, the United States and Japan. This expansion should, above all, result in improved session speed, particularly in the sessions held by Hosted Service users in the relevant and neighbouring countries.
